To The Root was born to meet our ever-growing need to re-connect with the natural world and others.
To delve deeply into different crafts and see how methods have evolved overtime, adapting to different environments; and relearn the core skills that were once fundamental to our very existence and migration around the world.
We are passionate about getting to the root of what makes us flourish as humans. Our unique and tactile workshops use local materials and aim to carry the maker on a journey by engaging with ancient skills and traditional crafts the conditions in which personal growth and empowerment naturally flourish are created.
Our workshop is based in Witherslack, in the English Lake District surrounded by rugged limestone scars and fabulous ancient woodlands. Witherslack is also home to a wealth of wildlife and traditional craft passioneers. You couldn’t ask for a more idyllic setting to relearn and regain that unique sense of belonging.
